CREATIVE DIRECTION + ADAPTABLE LEADERSHIP
NOW on sabbatical
Real talk:
I’ve been more focused in the work than updating my portfolio. After 5 years grinding in tech marketing (twice navigating the space between startup and IPO), I’m taking a break to get some distnace and process what I’ve learned—a necessary, though widely underestimated step in the creative process.

With a history spanning design disciplines from illustration to giftware and digital design, I’ve poured the range of that experience into leadership roles…most recently serving as Associate Creative Director at Klaviyo.
There’s a lot to catch up on.
What is adaptable leadership?
Context is one beast of a consideration, and for me, context determines the approach. I lean on my experience in both IC and managerial roles to inform the way I move, pause, and make decisions. Yes, there’s room for pause…sometimes it helps us move faster in the end.
“Lisa is the delightfully improbable locus of deeply intuitive, rigorous and intentional, wacky and exuberant, and endlessly curious. To experience Lisa’s art is to experience her as a colleague is to experience her as a person out in the world. That is to say, she is authentic, and present, and all-in.”

I’ve helped lead cross functional teams through a full CMS build and content migration at Root Inc., and the development of a visual design system to match the pace of content creation for Klaviyo content.

I’ve always loved stretching outside of a traditional design role. Learning what it takes to create with different tools—and different limitations—is something I both gripe about, and truly enjoy.

I’ve been drawing, doodling, and writing since I was young. Simple observation is my first love. Sharing those observations with others is my second love.
